Help selecting WiDi adapter

I have nearly 10 TB of movies and BluRays and TV disk series (and workout DVDs for my wife) ripped to external hard drives attached to my IdeaPad Y580 laptop. I've used MediaCenter Master and Media Browser plug-in and have them configured in a way that I think will pique her interest. all that's left is for me to be able to conveniently and quickly respond when she says "hey, let's watch a movie"

it's gotta be quick and easy. I'm hoping WiDi will help.

My system:

IdeaPad Y580
Win7x64 Pro, SP1
i7-3610
8 GB PC12800
240GB Mushkin SSD
1 TB Seagate 5400 RPM
nVidia GTX 660M (2GB)

what I'd like to do is to take advantage of the Wireless Display capability, but I'm having some issues deciding on a Wireless Display Adapter to use with my HDTVs. I suppose I could simply use an HDMI cable but I'd prefer to avoid that if possible. I have enough cables as it is, and I would love to give WiDi a shot.

any advice on the best wireless display adapter to hook up to my TV would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello sgtrobo, did you end up picking up a widi device? I just purchased a new laptop that has built in widi and was hoping to find an adapter for my TV. Most of the reviews on Amazon sound like the devices don't really work.

I bought the Netgear widi, and sent it back. It worked, just not very conveniently. To me, just as easy if not easier to connect an hdmi cable.

This. Neat idea, poorly executed. Hopefully Intel will improve.
