Help selecting Router

Been looking to get a home router to work with Comcast cable w/ Surfboard 5100. Will be hooking up two WinXp machines through CAT5. I have been looking at the following;

D-Link DI-804HV
Linksys BEFSX41
Netgear FR114P

I would like to keep SPI security. I liked the Netgear, but it seems like throughput is an issue. Haven't seen too many reviews of the new D-Link. Seems like the Linksys does it all, but isn't this model a few years old now? Any thoughts on these or other brands?

Welcome to the Network Forum.

If a wired Router does what you need there is No Advantage in a Newer Model.

There is No Big recent innovation in the World of Entry Level Wired cable/DSL Routers.

Actually a lot of the Old Models are better.

The New Ones have more Glitzy plastic. but some good stuff (like Serial Port, and or Printer server) was Stripped down to save cost.
