Help Selecting an Older TMOBILE Smart Phone

Any input is appreciated:

My Wife's phone is acting up, essentially unusable, and is generally pretty old anyway (2.5-3 years). We recently got married so we currently have different phone plans (each of us are attached to family plans with our respective families). As soon as my contract is up in October, we'll get a new plan together.

So for the mean time until October, could someone please recommend a decent older TMOBILE smart phone that I can find used (craigslist likely) for a reasonable price and just pop her sim card into. Looking for something not too expensive (under $80?), and still decent enough to use for the next 2 1/2 months.

I've been with AT&T for years and am not that familiar with the TMOBILE's previously line up of phones.

Thanks, any input is appreciated. Have a good one. 🙂

I'm not fully versed on their older lineup, but can you confirm which sized SIM you have? 2FF or 3FF, Mini or Micro? I doubt you've got a full sized SIM or a Nano SIM with the age of devices you're looking at. There's adapters, I think though.

If you go to HSN you can get the Lumia 521 for $119 and if you sign up for their email you can get another 15% off. This is a entry level Windows 8 smartphone brand new. HSN includes different colored case covers and a car charger with the phone and HSN also offers flex pay option.
The Lumia 521 is with T-Mobile as either a post or pre paid phone.

AT&T has just come out with the LUmia 520 for $99 under their Go phone plan too.

There are reviews of the 521 that you can read to see if the phone will meet your requirements.
You can also check out Windows Phone Central forum to see what experiences people have had with various Windows phones.

Just another option if you want to switch OS'es.

That lumia 521 is your best bet seriously. You won't get a android phone that's worth a damn for $80 that wont be as old if not older then your current phone

If ur into rooting phones, u might be able to get some things.

Nexus one. Its pretty dated given we are roughly in the nexus 5 world (Google edition s4)

I have one on my desk now. It was going for $85 but Im leaning on giving it to my father

Thanks for the suggestions. Started hunting around on craigslist and threw out some lowball-ish offers for an S2 .. Many are going for $140-180, threw out multiple $100 offers... Just to see what I can get... Will also look into the other ones suggested tonight. Thanks again.

As for the questions regarding the SIM card, I believe it's a "regular" SIM card... Her older phone is a Samsung Gravity (not sure exactly which of the multiple Gravity's, but it is slide to open and she's had it for quite some time). I took at the SIM today and as far as I could tell, it is the normal SIM size (i.e. not micro/nano of any type).

Cheers.

The 710 is a Windows 7.5 phone, I don't know much about Windows 7.5 other than it is an ok OS. Windows 7.5 will not upgrade to Windows 8 so some apps will not work with Windows 7.5.

Yah, I noticed that but figured she probably won't bother with too many apps anyway; she ends up playing games on my iPhone nonetheless, lol... Thanks man. Have a good one.
