Help selecting a power supply

Leros

Lifer
I am upgrading my computer to:

Athlon 64 3400+
Gigabyte GA-K8NS Pro Mobo
2 X 512 corsair value ddr-pc3200
ATI 9800 (pro?)

also have:
4 X case fans
2 X optical drives
2 X HDs

Currently I have a TurboLink 350w ATX PSU that came with my case. I dont think it is going to be sufficient for my new system. My budget is very tight and I would like to spend around $50.

Im looking at:

Coolmax 400w CX-400, Taurus CX Series Silent Power Supply ~ $39.50

Thermaltake Silent PurePower, 420W ATX Power Supply ~ 41.49

Aspire 450W, Model ATX-MR450W ~$50.00

Antec P4 ATX12v 400 Watt Power Supply ~ $55

Antec 330w Power Supply, Model "True330" ~ $50

Any suggestions? I know Antec is a good brand, what about others (Cooler Max, Vantec, Thermaltake, etc)?

Thanks

Thermaltake: +12V@18A
Aspire: +12V@30A
Antec: +12V@18A
Coolmax: +12V@18A

I would go with the Antec for sure. Thermaltake is so so but the others I would not even consider unless someone knows something I don't which is possible.

consider the TTGI PSU's from Directron.com and choose one 380W+

i have the 450W 14cm fan one and it has been great they have been putting these TTGI PSUs on sale alot when i bought one it was onsale for 19$! + the shipping ofcourse

The thermaltake 420w has a good 18A load on the +12v line as well. Any reason I should spend the extra $20 for the Antec 400w?

Better build quality. I guarantee you that Antec is heavier than that Thermaltake.

both of those are nice and at a good price, unfortunatly I have window and I really need my PSU to be silver to match everything.

Do I care about that? My current PSU is very flimsy and it holds up fine.

Yes you should care about build quality. We are not talking about the outter casing as that is irrelevant. Generally speaking if a power supply weighs more, it is a much higher quality power supply. The components used will make the unit outlast the competitors.

The True 330 is nice. I've used it in the past. (Why I'm no longer using it is another story.)

I'm currently using one of these from Fortron; it's just as good, if not slightly better, IMO. (It has fewer features though; it lacks fan RPM output and temp-controlled case fan connection.) $41.49 + shipping.

This is the same thing with a blue LED fan. $45.00 plus shipping.

EDIT: The finish is a quality-looking textured silver on the Fortron. My Antec had more of a matte gray finish. The Fortron I'm using is also heavier than the Antec, although the Antec was not a light-weight POS like some PSUs I've had.
