Ban political mailers. I must have been sent the better part of 100 of those in the last 30 days.

Just another reason I'm voting Gary Johnson to stick it to the idiots running the republican party right now. Hopefully they will be kicked out and better minds installed.

i do wonder how much election spending contributed to GDP growth over the last couple months

GDP is what, $15 trillion? and I think the total spending of the campaigns was $2 billion, so that's 0.013%. Add in the superpacs, maybe it gets to 0.03%?

With every political mailer you get, if there is an envelope included, tear up their ad and mail it back to them at their expense. They'll get the message soon. Besides, it's fun to screw with them.

I've been annoyed with all the political flyers I've received in the mail lately too, not to mention there are three registered voters in my household so it ends up being 3x whatever flyer happens to be sent.

How are they supposed to reach the independent, undecided voters in swing states?

The post office needs the money. I don't think that such mailings should be restricted to some arbitrary date before the election. I would not be opposed to charging an extra fee for political/advertisements to support local paper recycling routes though.
