His parents would have overseen his finances. He's not totally to blame for this. Also the fact that it probably didn't generate that much money to begin with.

How long do you think that money last? That was 13 years ago. Give the guy a break.

And he was on various forms of Saved by the Bell for at least a decade. I'm quite certain that his parents weren't still nursing him when he was into the third or fourth season of Saved by the Bell.

Sorry my math was way off. 1989 was the start of Saved by the bell. He was born in 1977, which would have made him TWELVE years old.

Last season he did was 1994 (which was only actually 1 episode, the rest were in 1993)

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0224616/

He did one other show called "Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas "

So we was all of what, 16-17 years old when Saved by the Bell ended?

Ok, so you think he should have had a financial advisor at the age of 12-17? Was it really HIS responsibility - or his parents?

This guy really isn't at fault. He wasn't even of age when the show ended and the money quit coming in. Now he's a 29 yr old washed up actor and just trying to make some money.

Well, the first version of SBTB started in '87, when the kids were in Junior High. Slater, Jessie, and Kelly were not in this one.

Then the high school years ran for 4 seasons, from August of 89 to May of 94... then they had the college years, running from may 93 to feb. 94, .... THEN they had "The New class" which ran from September of 93 to January of 2000... long after he had turned 18.

So, although his parents may have managed his finances in the first couple renditions of the show, he should have known that after doing 100+ episodes of Saved By the Bell that he was probably screwed. Even I can figure out that working on a dying TV series isn't enough to warrant buying a house in a profession that has lots of downs and not as many ups.

He got big when MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice were big. When TV shows came and went... he couldn't really expect to have solid work for the rest of his life when nobody knew him outside of Screech.

I'd really like to see this house of his. Then I can be more certain when I say he probably should have gone for something a little more modest. He's not an A list celebrity. Probably not even B or C list. ... and while I don't give a damn about those sorts of things, talent scouts do.

Ok its just really scary that you know anything about gay porn.

Aside from that random fact, I know nothing about gay porn. I only know that fact because there was a huge thread on another forum about it, and some of the responses were funny enough to make me remember.

His parents blew a large portion of his money when he was a kid. Also he and his wife just lost their child and their insurance didn't cover medical expenses, so he had to use whatever savings he had to pay for that.

Welcome to the real world. I'd rather donate $$$ to a worthwhile cause and saving Screech's house isn't one of them.

1. I want Arthur to lose his cushy job at NYCE where he screws over the working man then laughs at their expense.

The fact that he is not a working man makes this quote from his website hilarious. Maybe if he decided to get a job to pay the bills like the rest of the country he wouldn't have to whore himself on the internet.

It's not you, and unless you've lived that life, you don't have a fvcking clue.

What bugs me about all you people that are bagging on him is that you have no clue what they deal with.

As far as losing the kid and the med bills and stuff, maybe he didn't put that there for a reason. I'll bet money that all you people that say "wtf is his problem, he should be doing this and this" or "If I were him, I'd be doing this and this" would have a different view if you had any sort of concept of what it's like to have been there and then to not be there anymore.

Have a little fvcking compassion.

WTF does he need a $250k house in Wisconsin for? He could buy a decent place to live for $100k. He should call Zach b/c Zach and Slater always got Screech out of trouble. Or maybe Lyle Alzedo could come over too?

I have little to no sympathy for morons who enter into a land contract. I don't think I'll be sparing him any money because I have mortgages to pay.

Dustin's finace had an ectopic pregnancy last year, and the surgery/hospital bills were around $125,000. So there is some financial hardship.

Plus, according to the Stern interview from the 13th, he has a huge c0ck. Too big for a magnum condom huge.

He actually thinks that he's a famous celebrity? Internet celebrities are probably more famous than him!

Of course he is famous, everyone knows what Screech looks like and who he is. But I agree, while I am not going to donate to the cause either, I don't think everyone should be happy that he is getting screwed by the landowner.

QFT - and that show sucked anyway. Apparently standup comedy isn't paying the rent - time to get a real job.

On a more serious note, what is a "land contract"?

Land contracts vary widely from transaction to transaction.

In most cases, no grant deed is recorded. The buyer rarely obtains a new mortgage loan at the time of purchase. Instead, the new owner makes payments to an intermediary, who then makes payments on the seller?s mortgage, which is still in place.

Keep in mind that such an agreement usually violates the lender's guidelines. If the lender becomes aware of a transfer of title on the property (which is why you usually don't record the grant deed), they can exercise the "due on sale" clause of the note. This would require you to refinance the loan or sell the property. Since many who buy on land contracts have problems qualifying for a mortgage, you can see how this can lead to problems.

At the same time, lenders generally only check for transfers of title if the loan becomes delinquent.

Within a certain number of years, it is expected the buyer will be able to qualify for a loan. At that time, they will obtain a new mortgage and pay off whatever amount the land contract requires. Then a grant deed is recorded and full ownership is conveyed.

yeah, I'm pretty curious too. his site doesn't say whether he was able to save his house or not. i've got a feeling he never had a chance with this idea.
