Hey guys,

A quick stupid qxn...
Just received my new laptop from work, and I was planning to send my desktop home to my mom so she can tweak with it. I wanted to know if I can still keep the CDR that is installed in my desktop sys. and use it with laptop. I can't bear life without my CDR, all those bootlegged movies, all those pc, dc, and psx games, all those mp3s....

oh yea, the cdr is not scsi...

thanks

if it's external. or you should be able to get an external case for it if it's ide, but i've had limited success using them (your milage may vary of course). i actually bought an HP external writer (parallel port) and ended up yanking it out of the case and installing it internally (ide) to get it to work correctly and not make dozens of coasters.

If you had an IDE CD-R drive you could always purchase a docking station with support for such a connection.
