Help! Ryzen 7 running at 2.1 Ghz

Both AI Suite and CPU-Z show the current frequency of all cores around 2.1 Ghz. My CPU temp is 40C so not quite sure what is going on. I went into the BIOS and it clearly shows 3400 Mhz as the frequency under monitoring. What could be the issue here?

nevermind, figured out that it is dynamically changing the frequency based on load. What is interesting is that sometimes the frequency momentarily goes to 3.8 Ghz and then when idle immediately falls back to 2.1 Ghz. I believe it's due to AMD Quiet and Cool? Is that a good configuration to have as opposed to always running it as max clock?

Same mobo as me yet I cannot get my 1700 to go past 3GHz no matter what unless I manually overclock it.

1700 is up to 3.7GHz. Not just 3GHz. Even if I benchmark the clocks don't budge.

What BIOS version are you on? There's probably an easy explanation for this I hope. I am not a Ryzen owner so I am not qualified.

I have not changed anything as of yet. I am waiting to flash my BIOS when the 0803 BIOS comes out in final (currently it's in Beta but has a lot of good reviews). Interestingly I found a user on another forum that has a 1700X and he has the exact same clock frequency as me at idle (see last post in thread below), so I think this is quite normal.

Change your power plan, and your clock speeds should return to normal. Windows defaults are super aggressive.
