Hi folks,

I have a new gaming rig build on the A8N32-SLI MOBO. I am using two EVGA 7800GTX 256mb KO boards in SLI mode.

I am running the most currently released(non-beta) drivers from Nvidia, 8.1.9.4

My FPS games look beautiful(FEAR, HL2, COD2, Q4, etc), and they run like a scalded dog.

I have two RTS games, Civ IV and Age of Empires III. When I bring them up in SLI mode, the video is wavy like looking at it through water, and a horizontal black line moves up and down the screen.

I know it's SLI mode since I can uncheck SLI mode in the advanced desktop settings, and both RTS games look perfect.

Anyone ever seen this before?

thanks!

Do you have v-sync enabled? It sounds like the cards rendering out of sync, which would cause the image distortion.

Yeah, this is definitely a vsync issue. I get the moving/flickering line in several older games if I try to use vsync with SFR or SLI AA.

thanks for the replies folks.

No v-sync. is disabled in both games.

I have found that I'm not the only one! I found a forum discussing this and folks have the exact problem with both games I mentioned, but NOT FPS games.

No one has a fix for it, however.......

I have both games patched to their most current level.

guess I'll have to drop in and out of SLI mode depending on the game. No big deal. takes just a couple of seconds to change it.

thanks!
