Update: SOLVED, Thank you Zepper[/B]

Antec Super Lanboy aluminum ATX Mini-tower case.

The Power On/Off button got stuck in the pushed-in position. Consequently the computer is unusable.

The entire button assembly is completely enclosed in non-removable aluminum sheet metal, on both sides, top, bottom, back. There doesn?t seem any way to remove the button from the case.

Therte isn't room around the sides of the button to slide something alongside it from the front, to pull it out.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

if you can live without the re-set button, and it is a "momentary on" type
button like the power switch button, you could disconnect the jumper-type-
connector for the stuck power switch & move the reset jumper-type-
connector to the power switch jumper pins on the motherboard.

i would "ohm out" (measure the resistance) of the reset button, just
to make sure.

You should be able to remove the whole front bezel quite easily at which point it should be simple to resolve the problem. If you're not mechanically inclined enough to figure out how to remove the bezel, turn it over to a techie friend.

wwswimming & Zepper,

The portion of the structure comnatining the power on - off button on the Antec Lanboy case does not appear removable from the rest of the front. It's fully "encased" in aluminum sheet metal,"riveted" on there.

Thank you both for replying.

I appreciate your willingness to try & help.

It looks to me like there are three or four screws on each side that hold the bezel on - not riveted. You can see them in a couple of the pix in the review on www.virtual-hideout.net. I've never seen a bezel riveted on - otherwise, how could you replace the front fan? The cage parts and stuff are pop-riveted to the front chassis metal but not the bezel.

From the SPCR review:
The front bezel is screwed onto the case with six self-tapping screws. To remove it requires the removal of both side panels in order to access the screws. It's certainly not as convenient as the more common type of snap on bezel.

Zepper,

Thank you for your help.

I finally found the bezel screws and the problem is solved!
