Hey, I need help figuring out what the best way to remove the heatsink/fan from my GF4. I have a BFG 4200. The heatsink is attatched to the processor by some kind of glue. What's the best way to get it off, I'm a little scared of just jamming a razor or something thin in there to pry the thing off the GPU. Any links, guides or advice owuld be appreciated.

Thanks

Put the card in an airtight plastic bag, wrap it VERY tightly, double or triple bag it if you can. Moisture is your enemy.

Put it in the freezer. Let it sit for a while, because at low temperatures, the glue loses it's adhesive quality and the heatsink comes off easily.

Hey, first put the card in an anti-static bag! Then bag it all you like to protect from moisture. Stray voltages are a much more deadly enemy than moisture is -- after all, the card will dry out eventually. The moisture danger comes when you remove the cold card from the freezer, not when you put the warm card into the freezer.
