Help remembering name of movie

Not sure when the movie was made, might have been 80s or early 90s. The plot is about this guy who cost his team a baseball game, and as a result his entire life went in a different direction and he thought of himself as a loser. He didn't get the girl he wanted, he ended up poor, etc. Then somehow he's granted a wish or something, and ends up changing the past, and has a new life, but it turns out it isn't the life he wanted after all.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? Details are a little fuzzy, and I couldn't find it using keywords on IMDB or Google.
