I'm forced to use IE to access my grad work online..
My kids downloaded something, somehow, since last Sunday.

All I have to do is open IE and I start getting pop-up windows.
reinstalled adaware, ran adaware - deleted what it found.
reinstalled spybot, ran spybot - nothing.
tried Hijack This
But, I still have the pop-ups - haven't found the right thing yet...

Hijack this > adaware > spybot

I find this site does an ok job analyzing log files.

you should consider reformatting.

some of that adware will rename itself as soon as you touch the file.

That probably would have taken less time.. but I'd have had to search for my backup disks (I use Norton ghost - the disks are packed away somewhere.) I don't know why this stuff doesn't qualify as viruses so they can go after these companies..

If I wrote a virus, the FBI would be all over me. What keeps these companies going??
