argh!
I just got my nice new radeon le card after hearing so much about how easy it is to modify. I know the win2k drivers used to really suck, but I thought they were supposed to be fine (in Quake3) now. anyway, I ran quake3 with it 640x480, pretty much high quality settings and did timedemo 1. I got only about 54fps! that's just as fast as my old matrox g400-tv card I upgraded from. So then I got the latest drivers (5.13.1.3211) and tweaked it out completely with RadeonTweaker but the fps is now CONSISTANTLY at 69.7fps for that same test. -->another interesting bit of info: when I overclock the card to 175/175 with RT, it gets the same fps.

I have: t-bird 900, 128mb pc133 cas2, msi k7t pro2,dx8.0a, got sp1 and 2 installed

durnit! Please help!
Thanks.

Sounds like vsync is enabled. The radeon won't give you the insane framerates at 16 low res like the geforces but it will give you better performance at 1024x768x32.

ok, I get 61fps with same settings but 1024x768.
Is that about what I should expect?

yeah, I have the via 4-in-1--Also update: So it the fps are okay at 1024x768 now (right, the card doesn't run any faster at low res) but there's still the problem that increasing the clock doesn't seem to make any difference in fps and sometimes even makes it lower. After doing tons of timedemos it looks like now I'm getting around 60-62 fps no matter if I have the card clocked at 148/148(default) or 183/183.

Have any ideas?

I heard the new 3124 drivers are faster, don't know for sure though. 61 at 1024 max everything isn't too bad...did you try 1280?

Sounds like VSync is enabled or your processor limited, but i would imagine that would be the case. Are you sure you have VSync DISABLED?
