HELP: RADEON CONFUSION!!

I want to upgrade to a new card from my old VOODOO 3 2000- I thought I was set on the RADEON 64 DDR, but got confused after seeing a 64 DDR VIVO. NOW, I hear the 7500 is better? What is the best- for around $150??? From what I've seen, the DDR has had the least complaints, but what do I know...

-MY Voodoo stinks. It lags and skips in simple games like AOM. I run a AMD k-6 500 MHZ and plan to upgrade to a 1.6 MHZ AMD (if any of that matters) PLEASE HELP!:frown:
 
Unfortunately your K6-500 is still going to be the bottle neck. I don't care what you drop in your machine, with that proccessor you are not going to realise the potential of any current video card you throw in there.

I once had a K6 450-III notebook chip at 550MHz and a Geforce1 DDR, and it was horrible compared to a Celeron 366@550 I had. Could'nt even begin to utillise the potential of the Geforce1.

Do the processor/mboard up-grade now. Even your voodoo3 will provide you with some more performance which might tide you over till the total up-grade (processor/mboard/vid card)
 
Hey, as the guy before me said (killrose i mean), upgrade you mobo and processor. Get the Shuttle
Ak31a... its low in orice but high in quality... crucial is great in memory, and get either the radeon 7500
or 8500 (8500 is way better!) and gf3 ti200 is also good...out performs the Radeon 7500 but not the
8500......And order from Newegg or Mwave
i have used them both and they are great!
