Help quick PSU question!?

Just wondering if this PSU

Antec NeoPower 650 Blue 650W

is compatible with this GPU with the HIS 4870 IceQ4+ Tubro 1GB?

That psu will be more than enough. I am currently running my 4870 (512mb) on an Antec Earthwatts 500 and it works just fine. Based on the reviews I should have ~100w to spare though not a ton of room on the 12v rail. In your case the 650w Neo should be more than enough with extra watts and 12v amps, especially since it has 1 8 pin and 1 6 pin PCIe and that card only needs two 6 pins.

BTW, I'm also running an overclocked e8400 which also draws extra power.

oh shoot sorry about that, when i hit post thread button, the screen kinda just refreshed itself and i got the post screen with none of the stuff filled in, didn't realize that.

So that means im set for pins correct? so i can use the one with 8 pins as a 6 pin connection? thats the only part im a bit confused about is all.

Sorry about that, yes you are covered. It has an 8 pin and 6 pin so it would work for even the more power hungry GTX 280, in your case the 8 pin has two pins that are detachable to give you the second 6 pin you need.

Ok, thank you very much. This is my second build for myself, but i have experience helping other people build their, but PSU is really one area that when i come to help, it's already been done lol

Ok one last question: Im going to be installing Vista 64. I have a Seagate 750GB hard drive. I've been told windows can't read past 120GB or something of that nature, so will i have problems installing my HD with windows? Not sure how this works, i thought it was simple plug and play ( again my first build i had help, that help has moved to The Carribean, so its just me now lol ) so can you explain to me how this works? Or is it like i thought, plug and play, or should i say plug, assemble, install, play?

You got something confused. Vista and XP 32 bit can only recognize 4gb of RAM. Not hard drive space. No limitations there

Actually with the very earliest versions of Windows XP and the previous windows versions I believe there was a limit of 120gb. Once installed there were patches to enable windows to see more HDD space.

As for Vista 64 you will have no issues with it seeing the full drive. If you have more than 2GB of ram you may want to leave only 2GB in while installing Vista and then once it's installed put the remaining stick(s) in. I know Vista used to have issues with more than 2GB in the pc while installing but this may have been fixed with SP1.
