HELP!!! Problems w/ Soundblaster!

I have a friend that is currently running a Soundblaster X-gamer 5.0 on an Abit KT133a board and the sounds "skips" around every 5 seconds or so on Windows XP. I've tried all kinds of thing w/ different drivers and updating to SP1 and nothing works. It skips on everything from movies to mp3s. It doesn't matter Thanks for any suggestions!

I'm thinking thise cards loved to hog IRQ5 so check and see what other devices may be sharing it.
