Help!! Problem Setting Up RAID 1

I have a system based on a Gigabyte GA-7DXR+ MB. The system contains two Seagate 80GB hard drives that were formerly set up with RAID 0 (striping), which is a pretty useless. So I wanted to change to RAID 1 (mirror). This MB uses the Promise FastBuild Configuration Utility. Anyway, using FastBuild, I deleted the old array (which preserves the data on the drives), then created the new mirror array, whereupon FastBuild copied the contents of the master HD to the slave. When this step was completed, the FastBuild prompt said "Press any key to reboot", which I did.

The problem I'm having occured (and continues to occur) during the reboot. During the reboot, the system detects the mirrored array and indicates that its functional. When the reboot gets to the point where it's "Verifying DMI Pool Data", the boot hangs and gets no further.

So my question is, how do I get past this point? Any ideas on what's wrong?

One thing that occurs to me: I may have been a little cavalier in assuming that my boot hard drive was on the master controller and the other hard drive was on the slave (if it was the other way around, I suppose I may have completely wiped out all the installed software on the system, since the "backup" hard drive had nothing on it (so that, if this was really the master, this is what got copied to the boot hard drive).

Suggestions?

I use the Promise TX2 add-in card for my Raid setup.. You should be able to hit Ctrl+F to get into the Raid setup at boot and make sure the new array is set as bootable.. That's about all I can think of... Good luck!
