I got a problem! I got these 2 new messages, so I read them, marked them as read, replied to them, etc. As of right now it says "No new messages" but as soon as I click on that link to see, say, a new message from someone, it reverts to saying "2 new messages" and it lists the ones I already read, but not the REAL new message, I have to go to PM history ALL to find out the right one. I even DELETED the messages that were causing a problem and it STILL does it, they just pop up out of nowhere again! Can anyone help me or have any ideas of what to do? Thanks!

P.S. I didn't have this problem with the old style (I like the old style of the forums better for the PMs I want it back! :| )

Ok, no we are not bringing the old one back

Sounds like you are moving new messages around to new folders? A message is not read until a) you have cliccked the read button and open it in a window, or b) you change it's status on the front page. I can not replicate your issue whatsoever on ie 6 or ns 6,7.

If you can provide a way to replicate it we'll investigate.

I did click read, replied, changed its status, didn't matter. Now for some reason its OK. Well if it doesn't happen again I'll be glad.

Can't have the old style back? dang :( Oh well

Make sure to refresh your browser. I thought this happened to me, but it was just a cached page that said "1 message" and as soon as I refreshed it went away.

You wouldn't happen to be using Opera would you? For some reason the default cache settings never refresh the pages on this forum...

I have had problems with it too, though I think it's more of an id10t error on my part than anything else. Takes a lot of finagling for me to get the flashing to go away.

I am having exactly the same problem. I had no new messages in my box, but the icon kept blinking saying there were. I just hit the delete after date: <today> to remove them.
