I closed the earlier thread because you didn't provide sufficient information about your build for other members here to be able to assist you. You still need to do this, because no one can assess whether or not your setup is working correctly unless they have a frame of reference for what its capabilites are or ought to be.

Please list your specs and resolution.

Also, make sure Tomb Raider is up to date.

Oh, and 4x SSAA is going to be a big FPS hit if you are running 1080P or above. It will basically drop your FPS in half.

his specs are listed in his other thread. and unless there was a time warp in posting, I cant figure out why the other was closed as he clearly listed his specs but the replies after sure dont indicate that.

As someone else mentioned, make sure you have the latest drivers for your card and patch for the game, however, with 4x Super Sampling AA and tressFX, I think what you're experiencing is normal, especially when you get a close up shot of the hair like in the pic you posted. After making sure you have the latest updates, try turning AA to FXAA and post your fps in the same place (you can keep tressFX on).

When you call tech support for any company, do you ask them for help in the form of this:

"plz help i'm getting 2 fps"

That's essentially what the OP did. Supporting information is everything in terms of finding proper solutions for situations like this - the more, the better. The OP provided essentially nothing to go on. Complete sentences that make sense are a plus as well.

OP : Looking at your screen shots the problem seems pretty obvious. 4X SSAA. You need to turn that junk off, SSAA isn't usable in most modern games. Try FXAA, then turn TressFX off, and then ensure that you have the latest drivers. You didn't indicate your driver version or OS version in the OP, BTW.

Summary:

Use FXAA, turn 4X SSAA off.
Lower the ultra setting
Turn Tress FX off
Ensure you have the latest drivers

SSAA with a single card is going to be a slideshow in tomb raider with tressfx on unless you have a GTX 780 or Titan. Even then...I dunno.

Start with all settings to minimum, and see if the problem goes away (it should).

Then, turn on one setting, and see if the problem comes back.

If not, try the next setting. Repeat until you find the problem return. Let us know how that went, and it might be good to open a spreadsheet so you can track the setting in the left column and the result in the right.

This is not mysterious, because you have a fixed number of settings you can adjust, in a fixed number of combinations. Now just get to work trying them.

should be just fine with FXAA and all other settings maxed out including tressfx. I can get 40-50 fps on those settings so he should easily get 25-30 % better than that. still even with 4x SSAA I never dropped below 18 fps where I was testing sp something is wrong if getting literally 2 fps.

Was there a video card listed? Based on this, I'm guessing he must be using an integrated GPU, which would require much lower settings.

Your 2500k is @ 4.4, his is stock. At 1080p aren't you a little bit CPU limited?

You can't even then. The problem is op has unrealistic expectations from his hardware
