I bought a 1800+ and overclocked it to 1900+.. but befor i evan overclock it my CPU TEMP was 40 Degree now it's at 45. and I have a
GlobalWin heatsink CAK38 Coper.. I have 7 fan's in my comp .. 2 on my 450 W power supply. 1 on my ATI Radeon 1 on my Epox 8kha+ 2 Panel fan's and my cpu.. still get 45 Degree is that normal should it be Less then that ?? I decided to bring it back to 1800+ and I still get 45 Degree hmm ?? :(

45C is actually quite cool for an Athlon XP ,especially when its at 1.6GHz!

You got nothing to worry about:) ,btw as comparision my XP 1500 when o/ced to 1.6 GHz hit 55C with 1.86v using a GW FOP 32

what was you comparing your temperatures to?

Actualy.. it's the same.. it was 43 to 45 Deg C now it's 46 to 46Deg C .. i use CPU Cool to monetor it..

I have another question. My fbs is set at 139 to get the 1.6 ghz but what should my CPU Vcore Voltage and Vdimm Voltage be ??

It's seted default at :
CPU Vcore Voltage =(+0.000 V)
Vdimm Voltage = (+0.10 V)

thanks...

oh aand hmm dont u think that 50 Deg C is hot for a CPU ?

For voltage settings you want the minium you can get away with ,so if you can run you XP1800 @ 1.6Ghz with default voltage that's just fine:)
As for your DIMMS ,I would of thought that the default voltage would of been adequate but if you have tested it & found it to need an extra 0.1v to be stable then thats OK ,you're not gonna roast your RAM with an extra 0.1v:)

Nope ,why do you ask that ? what are you use to seeing? (PII/III with external temp sensor?)
Remember the Athlons use quite a lot more power than say a PIII would ,this translates into more heat output.

Just wait & see the temps we'll get when they finally get to read the XP's thermal diode inside the cpu ,quite a few people will be shocked I can tell you;) ,they were when boards started to read the PII/III's internal thermal diode.

But should I try to loweer the Vdimm Voltage a litle ?? and i can put the CPU Voltage to - as well ?

Thanks for helping me out.. this is my first overclock and First time that I reach a cpu Temp that high :) maby i can puss it a little more maby instead of 139fbs i could go to 145 ? hehe :)
thanks

hehe ,no worries:) ,give a higher FSB a shot:) ,but take it in small steps ,eg +3MHz at a time & retest each time
You can try lowering the DIMM voltage back to default ,run a 3D game or benchmark to test your system ( a good test is to leave a game or benchmark,e.g. 3D mark 2000/2001 looping for 2-3hrs)
