ok i have win me and win 2k dual boot.

Win 2k works fine but in WIN ME my cd-rom is seen as a REMOVEABLE DISK. now under device manager its seen as a cd-rom. but when i put a cd-rom in the drive notin happens and when i go to my computer or explorer it says its a removeable disk??

Anyone know what could be wrong? i dont have this problem in WIN 2k

 
go to control panel -> system. Double click on IDE ATAPI/Controller and see if your CD Rom is set as PIO or DMA. Not quiet sure if that will fix it or not. It should be DMA not PIO.
