I have a AMD 3500+ 939 CPU and a K8V DELUXE Motherboard. Any I have something called an AI overclock for my CPU and it is set to AUTO. Some of the option are "manual, standard, overclock 3%, overclock 4% and etc..." Basically I want to know is the AI overclock on Auto causeing my CPU to run above 3500+ because can't that cause some overheating problems, I only the standard heatsink and fan that came with it. I bought the CPU on Retail. What is the difference between manual and standard? If I set it to standard will it become more stable and just stay at the default settings of 3500+.

You have the A8V mobo not the K8V. I use manual. Difference between manual and standard is that manual you can adjust the settings to your liking. Standard is just default cpu voltages, speed, mem speeds and FSB speeds. Standard should be more stable for you as it was for me when I 1st built. What really made my system stable though was up-ing my mem voltage to 2.8. Even at stock FSB speeds this took care of all stability issues for me :) What kind of RAM you got?
