Hello!
I'm a new member of anandtech.com as of a couple of minutes ago. However I am not new to the site as I am a daily reader for some time now and I appreciate what everyone here has to offer each other. So this is my first post and just wanted to say...well....Hello!
Problem:
At work I have to ghost an image to a dell notebook and I am having issues when it goes into the PC-DOS mode(???) at startup. It updates everythign the first time it starts up, reboots, then re-enters pc-dos. Once it picks up a connection with the sever, it goes to the Ghost screen but never starts copying the image. After about a good 30 seconds, it goes back to the other screen with an error. Something about connection to the sever could not be established. It suggests adding the line receive_mode=6 to the wattcp.cfg file. This has been tried and has had not affect on the situation.
After a couple more tries I have noticed that JUST BEFORE it starts the ghosting, it prompts with a 'force closing server connection' and 'disconnecting from server' followed by 'attempting to connect'. I am maybe thinking that after it disconnects it never reconnects to the sever before it starts ghosting???
Question:
Can anyone help me at all or point me in a direction to get this problem fixed? Any and all suggestions are welcome.
Thanks a lot,
Tarrant
