Hi, please can you help?!!!

I am running a Athlon 2000 xp, windows 98, Epox M/B with Via KT333 chipset, 256mb pc2700, Geforce 4 Ti4200.

My problem is that windows detects two of even three of devices that i have installed.
ie. It detects two monitors, two modems, Three USB root hubs!

If i remove them it just detects them on next boot up...

Any ideas????

Ummm, somethings really messed up software wise there. I would highly recommend updating and going with win 2k or xp pro, should solve it.

Just boot up in Safe Mode and delete the extras from Device Manager. When you reboot they should not reinstall. If they do you probably have resource conflicts. I used to get this from time to time with W98. But you really should think about W2K - you'll never be sorry you left that POS behind you. Never have to juggle hardware again!

No i did a fresh install of the OS. My system works ok, even with these multiple entries. It just does my head in! Pc's what would we do without them.

Thanks for the response :)
