Help Please... Windows crashing

Windows is crashing. I have a good PSU, but am using a 20 to 24 pin adapter. Some people say that the DFI n4 mobos don't work well with adapters. Is this true? Although I am clocking a 1.8 Winnie to 2.45, it is prime95 stable(on water). Also, I have to give it like 1.55 volts to be anywhere near stable(stock is 1.4 I think) If you can, tell me the probable cause and solution. Thanks a lot.
