I neeed to get this compute built by manana. When I try to boot something up in the CDROM it says a kernal32.dll file is missing and then another message pops up saying that the device attached to this system is not functioning.
I have my hard drive as master and a burner as slave in primary. Then I have my CDROM as master on secondary.
ANy ideas please help, I will try research now but I really need a quick fix for this one I must move on cause I know other problems will pop up.

Try running both CDROMs togehter on the Second IDE controller, or if you must, just run the one CDROM on the Secondary. Get your machine up and running first, then you can deal with your problem.

I agree with Nagumo. The other thing is I think that running a CD on the same port as your hard-drive will limit the hard-drive's access to 16-bit (maybe someone else can verify/correct this statement).

First of all see if the cd rom works in dos by using a boot diskette.
If it doesnt try reseating the cables and try again.
If not still bad cdrom drive.
If it does work in dos then something in windows is not working properly.
Try removing it from the device manager in safe mode along with any duplicates that might be listed there and reboot to let windows redetect.
