Help me please, i shutdown my computer last night, and when I tried to turn it back on it wouldn't turn back on. Yes i've tried holding the power button, etc...no use. I'm thinking the mobo is fried but i want to know other possibilities b4 concluding that my mobo is burned out. what are the possibilities of the power supply? the fans don't pwr up, neither does the hard drives, it acts as if it's missing something like RDRAM or the proc, please help.

Intel P3 1 GHZ
256 MB ECC PC800 RDRAM
Soyo SY-6ICA i820 mobo
S3 Savage2000 64 MB
NIC Card
SoundBlaster Live! Platinum

was your power down automatic or did you manually press a power button?

first, check the power cable-try different outlets, different cables, examine the connection, etc. can you run something other than your computer off the outlet?

second, try popping the case and re-seating all the cards, ram, processor, etc

Third step would probably be removing non-esential components to see if the system will POST

Finally, if that doesnt work, I would conclude you fried something.

good luck

It could also be the power switch itslef, if one of the connections has gone bad. Depending on the mobo, you can sometimes 'jump' the power-on pins with a paperclip or screwdriver. If the system comes on, you just have a bad switch. Otherwise, it could be any of the things already mentioned.
