I'm slowly getting my education on all this. But don't understand if I should install 4in1428 drivers before I install the rest of the system, (nic, sound card, modem)or after? Do the 4in1 drivers serve as drivers for all my devices or do I still need to install some drivers after the 4in1? Thanks.

the via 4-1 has drivers for your IDE, AGP port and other stuff.
Even though it has drivers for the AGP port. If you have an AGP card you still need seperate drivers for the card itself.
You also still need drivers for all other devices on the computer

The 4in1 should be the very first thing you install after doing a reinstall of the OS.

And the latest version is 4.32. Since Via's site has been down for a few days, you can get them here.
