But THUNDER PANEL just sounds so bad ass!

"Excuse me while I turn on the THUNDER PANEL!"
"You'll never guess what just came up on the THUNDER PANEL!"
"Turn off that damn THUNDER PANEL and do your homework!"

Awesome

yeah...it was a last minute add just because of the price and the fact I could go pick it up.

Look at them in person. Find a Best Buy, Costco or Circuit City.

Panasonics are great panels, but every one has their faults.

All we have within a 60 mile radius are Best Buy and Sears. I don't believe the Sceptre and Vizio are available at either place. I'd rather not drive the 60 miles to Costco to find out that I should never have bothered due to feedback.

You've posted this on 3 forums I belong to, including avsforum, and so far almost everyone says panasonic. CNet and Consumer Reports agree. Seems like an easy choice.

At 42" the LCD (Sceptre) will have a greater resolution (1366x768) than the Panasonic (1024x768). I love plasmas, (hell I own the 50" Panasonic) but if you hook up a PC/HTPC to the 42" plasma you won't get as good of a resolution.

Of course I don't know what the Sceptre looks like PQ wise, so the Pansonic could still be the better choice. Plasmas usually have a more realistic picture than LCDs.

I got a similar panny at the BB BF sale; no complaints about it and the picture on over wire cable is pretty good.
