So I am done with my Motherboard, would love to get something new, I don't need anything fancy and budget is certainly limited to around $100. I honestly just want it for gaming....

These are my two choices below, which one would you guys pick out the two? also please point out any possible cons that you guys can see with them. Not going to Overclock. Also not sure if its compatible with my current RAM? (Signature) and if it will fit with my Cyrorig M9i Cooler?

Any help and feedback is appreciated, tempted to pull the trigger on one of these bad boys soon since they have rebates right now. (Yes one is Micro ATX never owned Micro ATX before but should be fine)

Thanks

Are you building a new system or replacing a dead motherboard?
Replacing my current motherboard. Keeping everything else (Signature)

Can be used but has to have Warranty and really really prefer for it to support 6700k (Gen) 2400 DDR4

Something wrong with the current board?
Have had lots of Voltage, BIOS, and Temperature issues for the past 2 years, this is a replacement they sent. My friend says is a known issue with this Motherboard and lots of other people have reported the same thing.

I shouldn't have to undervolt my CPU just to get my Temperatures normal. At a negative offset of -0.65 on the Vcore I manage to get the temperature to Max at 72c while gaming on Rainbow 6 Siege. While other people on the same CPU and different motherboard with same Cheap cooler manage to get a mild Overclock, stress test and not pass 72c.

I don't know how to Overclock, I don't care for it just yet, maybe one day. I Just game only, that's what I need it for.

Well ASRock is fairly good and AFAIK no major issues with their Intel based motherboards. I have a Z87 and my dad an B85 made by them and had no problems whatever with either one of them.

Does anyone know if MSI and/or ASrock Warranties are transferable for used Motherboards? Would appreciate some info on this, couldn't find a real answer on Google.

MSI Boards are horrible.... just say no...

The problem you also stated has very little to do with boards.
You can never cross compare 2 different platforms on 2 different cpu's. Cases + Fans Used + Ambients + the CPU itself can swing your results heavily. Its a hugh YMMV statement.

Each cpu has its own personality so to speak, one may run a lot cooler the other, its all in the luck of the draw.

Also reviews not from a credible source should always be taken with a heavy grain fo salt.

You have no idea where the PC is located, who built the PC, was the PC also built with high powered fans, godly wire management.

If your having heat issues, its probably best to post in cases and cooling with:
1. What case your using
2. What cpu cooler you are using.
3. How many fans you have inside your case and what direction they are at.

Its probably in your best interest to get a better heatsink with good fans, then replace that Giggy G7 board, as that is IMO a very excellent board.

I've had a friend highly recommend MSI motherboards, not sure what to decide just yet.
Case in Signature below so is specs.
CPU Cooler, Cryorig M9i but no Overclock
5 Fans to Intake front, 1 exhaust fan rare (Basic) and to top pushing air out 144mm.

Just as a test,. can you rebench the machine with the side panel off and see how your temps are?
Im thinking you are probably using bad / weak fans, and your case is starving air.

And the day i go over to MSI from Gigabyte is because the Gigabyte was on back order for an undisclosed amount of time.

Trust me, your z170 Gaming 7 board is in a much higher tier then those boards you listed and would make no sense in you downgrading unless something was wrong with the board physically.

Also R6 is multithreaded... So essentialy its the same as you running a moderate stress program.

i second it.. I always have same issue with other peoples temps / clocks. My ambient temps are much higher and fans much slower tho. I think you should reseat your cpu with some new grease check old the old stuff how it coated and point a fan to the side of your box to see what that does.

Well I know this is going to get a lot of negative reactions but I just bought a new (used) motherboard. It is a step down perhaps but I have my reasons, as long as it works. I honestly will be building an entire new System Sometime before April next year, this is just to hold me off until then. Then this will get sold and that money put towards the new build.

This is the Board I just bought. Got a decent deal on it for $70. As soon as I bought it one for $15 less popped up but I had already paid for this one earlier in the day. Pretty much using the $70 from my Gigabyte Motherboard to buy this one. Oh and its under Warranty Until June 20, 2020

Also wanted to share this from a Post I made on the Gigabyte Forums about the Temperatures on my Board. This is someones else's reply to my post. Pretty irrelevant but wanted to share as he mentions that others have dealt with the same issue on my Board.
