I was just about to purchase an Intel X25-M G2 (MLC),when I read about the TRIM problems and the latest review done by AnandTech (click here). Looking around I think I found a comparable SSD from OCZ (OCZ Vertex Turbo Series).

Would you all agree or disagree with my initial choice? Thoughts and comments welcomed. :D

I'm in the exact same boat. I want to know if the OCZ Agility 120GB has any such problems with TRIM like the Intel drives are reporting. I'm about to pull the trigger but would like to hear from anyone who has this drive working with TRIM first hand.

I don't believe OCZ suffers from the TRIM problems that Intel is having right now. I read the agility is nice, but oh momma is it expensive.

I guess I was lucky, but didn't have any issues upgrading the firmware my Intel G2 80gb ssd when they first posted it.

OCZ SSDs dont suffer from firmware problem that Intel SSDs have.

Ocz did have firmware issues, while they were not publicized as much as the intel ones if you frequented their forums after the vertex launch you'd know. But for a company the size of intel having two firmware issues in a row can't be a good thing, im sure some heads are rolling there.

the Indilinix controllers and firmware 1517 (not sure what OCZ called it) gave me blue screens when coming out of standby in XP. Rev 1819 fixed that problem, with no (yet) noticed side effects.

Personally, I'd just sit on it until the X25-M G2 firmware is worked out, then grab one.

I just pulled the plug on a 120GB Agility for $365 CA but between ordering it and before it shipped, I get a e-mail saying that OCZ has "discontinued this product". It's suddenly not available anywhere, even NCIX has it listed as "Back Ordered" :*(

I truly doubt that OCZ stopped making it and more likely that they just ran out of stock, can anyone confirm? I sent an e-mail to OCZ and am waiting to hear back from them.
