He has a gift card for ~200 he wants to use @BB so no Walmart, CC, or anywhere else. Has to be Best buy.

You didn't mention that it has to be from Bestbuy. The Samsung is probably the nicest on your list with JVC, Magnavox, and Sharp probably being about the same quality and Insignia at the bottom.

They also have this Toshiba for $240, looks nice

What's condition #1 he listed?

OP, tell him to get the sony

I'm going to tell him to go for the sony if he can. Then the samsung. As I said both are out of his range but he may go for it.
Of course, like I said he's gonna have to look at the PQ on all of them and use that as a major factor in this.

Thanks for all the help.

Remember that BB probably took all of 0 minutes to try to calibrate the different sets correctly

I have the Sharp, I like it a lot. I'm pretty sure it has two composite inputs in the rear (plus one on the front), one component input in the rear, and it probably has S-Video

I understand your point but all of them should have the same signal so that's the best he can do. If he gets it home and it's horrible he can take it backl. Either way this is just for a bedroom so it's not gonna have a cable box or hdtv, just plain ole cable.
