HELP!!! Password in cmos does not recognize any password...

I was helping a friend fixing her computer, she set up a password on cmos and when i went to fix her computer she told me she would like to remove it. During that time I was in a hurry and did not think and just went to the cmos setting and thought that her password would be cleared if i left it blank but after restarting it would not accept ANY password!!! I was not able get into the computer.

I know that I have to clear the CMOS and I already have the manual for the motherboard. The mobo its an Asus SP97-V and I was wondering if that's all i would need to do to fix the password problem.

It happened to me once and clearing the CMOS solved my problem. I guess it's your last recourse too.
