I am planning to go back Hong Kong on July 12th. but my passport is expired. I am holding a BNO (british national oversea). what should I do in order to get out of US terriority? 🙁

I have a green card, so it shouldn't be a problem to come back.
it is too little time to renew, this is what I am thinking 🙁

Although I have no idea, it would make sense that since you already have one and it's expired, it wouldn't take long to get a new one. Even if you have to go to wherever you get them yourself.. instead of doing it through the mail or whatever.

You still have 2 weeks. Does it really take that long?

It takes weeks via mail. If you were a US citizen... I would have told you to go down to the county office (I don't know which department) that handles passports and do it there. It takes you the whole day, I'm not kidding... pretty much the whole day, to process everything. If you take that course you will have everything done by the end, provided that you've given them the correct papers.

Are you british or chinese by citizenship?

I think I am british with my BNO passport, but it is expired. I can probably swap it in the china ambassy.

Go to the nearest British embassy or consulate in NYC immediately. Check with them.
