HELP: P4C800D, Corsair TwinX XMS 3200ll (2x512) PROBLEM!

Hello,


I have a P4 3.0 800, Asus p4c800 Deluxe, Corsair Twinx xms 3200ll 1gb.

I am EXTREMELY irritatated because I just spent top $$$$ for these premium parts.

When I boot POST, i get 3 BEEPS, which means its a memory read/write error. But, my memory counts up fine to 1024. I read that you need to manually set the SPD for this Corsair RAM. I have tried setting the RAM from default to the supposed recommended 2-2-2-6-1T, and I have tried pretty much everything in-between. What is the DDR Ram Burst Length (8 or 4?). Also, I have no idea where to change my setup to do the '1T'. I looked it up and apparently the '1T' refers to clock cycles. Where is this in the bios?


Help, someone please help. I am so sick of the 3 beeps, and all the problems it is causing along with it (like very, very slow boot times and destability).

Can someone, since asus and corsair obviously aren't stepping up to the plate, give me step by step directions on exactly what to change where to get my CPU/MB/RAM operating like it should.

I am so irritated that this isn't just PLUG AND PLAY. I spent $285 for my RAM, when I could have easily spent $70, and this is what I got to show for it? A motherboard that won't work with this RAM?

I can't believe this isn't more of an issue and I am not reading about it more. All you people who have my same exact CPU MB RAM, how did you do it, was it easy? What am I doing wrong, someone please address this issue in maximum detail please, thanks.

while cruising the motherboards forums, I recall reading that you get a beep for EACH USB device that you have connected. As far as memory timings, you need to relax timings for the LL memory a little bit. I am not sure of the exact details, but they are in corsair's forums- (which are down right now for "server maintenance").

Try manual settings of 2.5,4,4,8,8
then lower gradually until you begin to have problems...

I don't agree.

I don't see where Asus or Corsair made any effort whatsover to publicly/officially file a disclaimer to the potential consumer warning them that the Products they were about to buy is literally cash down the toilet. That is thievery.


Quite conversely, I see that Asus advertised on their official site that the Asus P4C800 Deluxe Motherboard takes Dual DDR400 RAM. I also see that Corsair did not advertise on their site that their top of the line Dual DDR400 RAM, the twinX, is broken trash if you happen to have bought the top of the line Asus P4C800 Deluxe.

I have this same motherboard, and am also having memory problems, but I'm using Kingston HyperX. However, I'm not sure that the beeps you're getting necessarily mean a memory error. As it was already mentioned, this motherboard beeps once for every USB device you have plugged into it at boot. I have 4 things plugged in, so I get 4 beeps. Are you getting any errors in Windows or any programs? If not, then your memory might be fine. My problem is running my HyperX at its rated timings (2-2-2-6). When I do that, 3d applications crash to the desktop. I'm still searching for more information, but unfortunately Asus has taken down their forums.

what corsair's support said...

You should be fine with these modules but you will need to have a 800FSB CPU to run at DDR400, And you may have to set the timings manually to Cass 2-3-2-6 ( Rass to Cass to "3") and the DDR voltage set to 2.75 volts.

Jack up your VDimm setting to 2.75. Otherwise it won't load up your OS. Then set the memory timings to manual and set it to 2.5-3-3-7 at first and see if that solves your issue.

I am running my TwinX3200LLs on my P4P800 (I865PE) with 2.75 vdimm and memory timings at 2-2-3(ras-cas latency)-6 timings at ddr426 speeds. Rock solid.

Hi all,

I had the EXACT same problems.
I swapped my Corsairs TWIN Dual Channels fro TWINMOS memory modules! Voilla, it worked! I did have to set the CAS to RAS to 3 in the BIOS!

Buy Twinmos and stay out of trouble I started of with Corsair Twinx DChannel and had 14 days of trouble with my Asus p4c800 de luxe. Now it runs like sunshine
