HELP! Outline Tabbing in MSWord 2002

Hey guys had a minor problem - one of my computers in my office, when in word, wont outline tab to the next level. For example, if the first level in the outline is (A) and you hit enter it will go to (B) naturally, however if you hit tab at that point it should go to next level (say I. for example) rather it just tabs and spaces over. I tried everything fix this. I can manually tab using the functions on the toolbar but thats kind of a hassle. Please help!! Thanks in advance!
