Help out a N00B!!!

I've been running distributed.net for a couple of days now and I have it set to crack RC5, but now all it will do on either of my machines is OGR. 🙁 I set it to where the RC5 had the first priority, and it was doing nothing but RC5, and then all of the sudden it will do nothing by OGR. Any ideas? This is on both of my machines that I have cracking. Was the key found and I just don't know about it? LOL Anyhow, I also wanted to ask, how does one go about setting up SETI for a 2 proccessor machine? I'm assuming it's not multithreaded from what I've read, do I need to run 2 instances of the application? Thanks in advance!!

For SETI on a dual-proc machine, just run the CLI driven by SetiDriver. Setup SetiDriver for two processes and you're done!

The bandwidth situation at Berkeley has made it hard for people to get setup. If you are going to be up later, I would recommend trying again in an hour or so. If it continues to be a problem, you might want to get it setup on the weekend when things seem to really flow much better.

Are there any mirrors that I can use to setup? It's strange than it's coming up without absolutely no connection whatsoever. I'm on a network using DSL through standard old Windows ICS.

BN, we're all having to rough through some temporary berkeley bandwidth problems.. try earlier in the morning or during the weekend. Hope you
persevere.

Glad to have ya!

BatmanNate - you're just having all SORTS of issues!!! 😛

With respect to SETI, I noticed this morning that connections were WAY slow from what they were last week. You just have to keep trying.

With respect to RC5 - earlier this month, someone posted here that Dnet was rumored to be ready to "make an important announcement". So... perhaps what you're seeing is right on the money with what some of us are speculating about. Since most of my crackers right now are headless, I'm not seeing exactly what they're doing except that I have OGR turned off on all but 1 machine (which does nothing but OGR), so they only run RC5.
