first column is my P3 550@620
112 bus x 5.5

2nd column is my celeron 566@850
100 bus x 8.5

thanks for the advice 🙂
btw i think this only looks ok in fixedsys mode
sorry about that

What do you plan to do with it and where does the one you dont decide to keep go?.....and are you planning on RC5 cracking? 🙂

for your own good, post this in the General Hardware forum, there are people here who just hang out in OT and therefore don't / can't answer hardware forums.

as answer I'd say definitely keep the Celeron, the tests clearly show that. Or you could try OC'ing the P3 some more, which should be possible

Redwingsguy: Remove the damn lines in your sig, will you? it's the 4th of July now, so 😛

OK, so the Celeron wins in everything except memory bandwidth. No surprise there... Try overclocking them both some more. If the Celeron will do a 112 MHz bus, that'll close the majority of the memory bandwidth gap, as well as widen the Celeron's lead in everything else. Also, try pushing that P3 some more... Unless, of course, your other hardware is limiting your FSB. If you have an AGP video card or memory that's hampering high bus speeds, sell the P3 & keep the Celeron. Unless you're willing to replace some hardware to really push that P3 to where it should be, of course...
