Help on watching cable on LCD

I have a Dell 24" wide screen monitor (NOT LCD-TV) and it's connected to the cable box's DVI out

#2 is the DVI on the monitor and I did switch it to #2... and I get no picture from the screen...

Please help... Do I need to connect the DVI to Computer then to the LCD? Can I just connect the DVI from cable box to the monitor directly?

the dell should have component inputs, use the component out on your cable box as mercanucaribe is correct the 2405fpw does not have hdcp (thats my only big complaint with the 2405) and a lot of cable boxes require hdcp to pass a digital signal.

Is it a 2405fpw or a 2407? You probably need HDCP.

I'll look into the model # tonite when i get back...

Also, i'll try the component input...

Keep you guys update..

thanks for all that replied. 🙂

ok, i just tried to use the component inputs and it works fine 🙂
