Hi!
I have the following mb:

DFI lanparty Pro 875(Rev A).

On the DFI web site it states that this motherboard can take up to P4 Prescott 3.06GHz processor. On the CPU compatibility list for the DFI motherboards on the same website it says that this motherboard takes the 3.2GHz prescott as well. Has anyone tried to run this mb with a 3.2 Prescott? Will it work or should I get a 3.06Ghz?

Another question I have is that again for this mb it says it can support up to PC 3200 memory. The thing is that I can find PC 4000 memory cheaper so can I buy it and put it on the motherboard and just work it as if it was 3200? Will the motherboard automaticaly run it at 400MHz or I will have any problems with the mb not finding any memory at all since this memory is faster than the top the mb can handle?

thanx in advance!

something else I would like to ask is:

When overclocking the CPU the memory speed is increasing as well from lets say 400 MHz to 450 475 etc......

If I get the PC 4000 RAM instead of the pc 3200 and I overclock the CPU without changing any voltages for the RAM. the PC 4000 will allow me to overclock more since the pc 4000 can run normally at 500mHz?

It doesn't look like it supports the Prescott at all, only northwoods. Revison B says specificly northwood and prescott, while revision A doesn't. I wouldn't recomend putting a Prescott on that board, because if it doesn't meet the power requirements, it could damage the board, the cpu, or both. As for the PC4000 memory, it will run on the board. PC4000 is for overclocking, and no board says it supports higher than pc3200, because there is no standard for higher speed DDR. It will run it at PC3200 speeds by default. You should be able to run up to a 3.4ghz northwood on the board with no problem, but I wouldnt' try a Prescott.

The DFi will run a 3.2. You can also use a 3200 ram and get some good oc. Just a question on the DFI and Intel. Why? You have lots of choices out there for Intel. All machure MBs. I guess I should ask you needs for a computer...
