Help on overclocking

What causes the following prob.
I unlocked my t.bird with the pencil trick and overclocked to 1 gig using the multipler.
But after rebooting it goes down to 600mhz or 550mhz (the dfault clock speed is 900mhz).
What could cause this prob?
 
erase the pencil mark and try again. if it boots at 900 then try the pencil trick one more time.
 
the pencil markings are just not cutting it. get some loctite rear defogger repair kit and paint the bridges with it. It works soo much better =).
