help on origin

hi friends i purchased BF2 via origin and is installed after some pain. I am currently using xbox controller however the game doesnt recognise the controller. however the controller is detected by other dvd rom games. I checked the ingame settings but no luck. does origin support external controllers. am i doing anything wrong? i need this desperately since i have also purchased BF3 and medal of honour via origin and are pending download due to this problem... thanks

If I were you, I'd get used to a mouse and keyboard. That controller in a FPS on a pc gaming platform will put you at a huge disadvantage. I wouldn't be surprised if the games simply don't support it.
 
I think you'll have to use a program to just map your controller input to your keyboard as I don't think BF2 has particularly stellar integrated controller support. Something like Xpadder should do the trick.
 
im using a laptop and so i dont want to harm the keypads... whats the great hoola hoo about using controller though!!! no offence but shooting with an ak 47 or slicing with a knife is till gonna ooze blood.... 🙂
