As i call cable modem up, they told me that port 80 is now blocked. I try different port for my computer to run http server and it does not work. Can someone please help me on these please.

I have SMC router 7004BR. Under Virtual Server, I set up the PORT 82 for Http and in my Apache and my IIS I also set PoRT 82. I tried both Apache and IIS and neither one are working.
when I try 192.168.xxx.xxx:82 in IE browser it does not work. it give me error page, but when i try http://192.168.xxx.xxx:82 then it work locally. also when my friend outside try http://mywan IP:82, also no work at all.

it look like something wrong here. can someone please help.
thank you
Olivier

Try a much higher port than you are using... Try this out http://youwanip: 8080

Some ISP's not only block port 80 but they also block in a range around that port figuring people will just go up or down one port...

<< youwanip ? link did not work. >>

It's not supposed to work, it is so he knows to setup his server. His WAN IP address followed by : and then a port.
