help on hooking up my pc speaker honker

I took the internal pc speaker from an old compaq. This compaq used to be able to play sounds, even mp3s, when no external speakers were hooked up. It could auto detect when speakers were connected. On my current computer, the pc speaker jack is 2 pins "oo", but the pc speaker is 4 pin like "ox*o"
o = metal pin
x = empty hole
* = no hole

how to hook this up and be able to have sound internally when no speakers are hooked up? This is for when I don't want to carry my 3 piece speakers around with a big ol subwoofer.

PS. I'm using soundblaster awe 64.

hmm, I think those two pins on the sound card are for input, not output.
well, anyone know how to do what the compaq did?

You can't. It's a custom rewire job.
