Just picked up a thunderbird and a KT7 raid motherboard. Was not sure how to fix the processor on the motherboard. I was having a problem with the CPU thermostat on the motherboard protruding out. This would not allow the Processor to sit onto the socket A on the motherboard...What I've read is that the processor should sit in very easily with zero force which is not the case here...Any suggestion???

Unfortunately, it's like this on every KT-7 out there. You'll have to carefully bend down the thermistor so you can pop the cpu in.

Which begs the question:

How exactly did ABIT test the mobo when you can't even get a processor to seat? Do they have cpus with extra-long pins, I think not !!

same prob here , had to bend it.

is anyone havn prob with a geforce 2 64mb with this combo?

also did everyone here that HD with big cache (2mb) will get bad sectors if your cpu is above 933
because of shutting windows down to fast (not being able to cleae the cache)

well sure enough i found out to late:( had my 2 brand new ibm ata100 hd in raid0
& there came on the bad sectors, i mean a bucnh of them.

such BS im tired of being bete testers for these company's!!

I think all the newer KT7s are being made with the thing bent down already, mine came that way, I had to bend it up so that it would contact the back of the CPU.
