help on convesion from *.mpg and *.wmv to a real good high definition

i need help as to how to convert files with the extension *.mpg and *.wmv into a high resolution and as well as increasing the audio clarity. please do suggest me a good software as well as where i can download it from and also its tutorial

What you ask is really not possible.

For the most part, .mpg and .wmv are compressed files. That means that all of that extra "high quality" data that you are looking for has been dropped to save size.

The only way to get high quality video and sound is to start with "higher" quality video and sound.

Yeah - as the old saying goes - you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. But! If you have the time and money, you can recode sound completely and create a pseudo higher quality - as in "digitally remastering" old recordings.
