Help on booting

Hey,

I have been running 2 installations of windows xp on 2 seperate hard drives with a screen which allows me to choose which one to boot. I have decided I want to remove the primary drive, but the secondary drive will not boot up without the boot screen which is only accessible by booting the primary drive (IE it says which operating system would you like to run).

I am just wondering, how do I make a boot screen, or get it to boot directly into my old secondary, now primary drive. Thanks

BTW, when i set in my bios to boot from the secondary HD, it just gives me a blank screen with a blinking underscore.

It should look something like this when edited for the single drive.

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect

You can probably just find and edit it on the secondary.

hey, i tried this but

it said when I booted it up

NTLDR not found
Press CTRL + ALT + DEL to reboot

anyone know what that means?

Try booting to the hard drive that works, copy NTLDR from c: to a floppy and copy it to the other hard drive, reboot....
