hi all!
i am wondering will i get faster results with command line seti client (but really faster) then with graphic seti client?
is it worth to install command line client or it is almost with no difference in processing speed?
and can i install command line client and keep graphic client too? (in case i change my mind)
and does C.L. client ask for connection when it finished W.U?

Command line (CLI) client is almost twice as fast, and I suggest using SETI Driver to cache work units and you can control when it sends work units.
 
The command line client is about 2x as fast as the GUI client if you let it display the grapics. Believe it or not, it takes a lot of CPU power to display those pretty graphics. 😉 You are much better off (speedwise) to run the command line client. It will automatically try to connect to get a new WU. If it doesn't connect it will try again every hour. Still, like steel said, you're best running SetiDriver to cache WU's for you.

i installed CLI version with Seti Driver and setup it to get 2 W.U for now.
It seems to me it is faster but i will wait to finish it to see how much.
It is quiet easy to make it run nicely (i was afraid it will be complicate cause it is comand line program, but i was wrong 😱))
My best result with graphic client was about 4h.50min with Athlon xp 1600+@1800+, i will post first result with CLI.

Not to "dis" the other topics but you'll find the DC forum has a bunch of very friendly and helpful people. There's no smack or fighting here, that's why the mods don't even bother looking for trouble here. 🙂 The worst you'll see is some bragging about speed or winning a race. Everyone pitches in and helps out the new members and before long those new members are helping out even newer members. In short, it's all about the TeAm. 😀
 
ok, this is my new result with CLI version : 3h 44min (it works while i was surfing, opening other programs etc) , it is much, much faster then graphic client (best time was about 4h 50min).
