Help, nonestop BSOD: c0000221 (bad image checksum)

when my was gonna use my bro's PC, it suddenl;y came up with this BSOD after the WinXP Pro boot screen:

STOP: c0000221 (Bad Image Checksum)

The image kernel32.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match the computed checksum.

I have tried Good Last Known Config to boot, no good. Also, safe mode, no good. How can I fix this. Do I have to replace the kernel32.dll file with one from the WinXP cd? Need help!

nope, stock speed, 1.333GHz, AthlonXP with KK266 v1.2 w/ latest BIOS... I have had no problems like this before with the XP.
